I brought in and compared all the other moc toes available on Amazon incl Thorogood and these were the most comfortable, 2nd best built and the best looking. They appear to be as strong and well built as the best including red wings, with the exception being that they do not use a leather welt. The welt does look well built, and I do think that sole replacement will not be a problem. Frankly, work boots aren’t worth resoling usually because the uppers get trashed as fast as the soles. I would’ve preferred if they had a version that was not waterproof, so that it did not require a membrane and fabric lining, but I don’t plan on using these boots for a lot of work. It’s more of an executive work boot, so I don’t foresee the lining wearing out from my use. For serious work, I would prefer an unlined boot. Even with the waterproof lining, these boots are not hot so that does mean that they breathe well. I like that the souls are not white so they don’t show stains as much. I also like the color of the leather and the texture more than the others. But that’s personal preference. I think the brand has focused on the aesthetic qualities as much as the build qualities to come up with a boot that is unique in the marketplace. And finally, it’s a great value for the price. Comparable boots from other manufacturers are significantly more costly.
