Don’t hesitate…buy these pants! They will keep you warm and comfortable! It’s been cold and windy here…in the low 20s but with the windchill it feels like 10 degrees. With these Carhartts on I am never cold, and I am the kind of person who is always cold! I mostly wear them for outdoor chores and walking the dogs, but also wear them inside because our house is very old and drafty. Basically I’ve been living in them for the last week except when I’m sleeping. After reading many reviews, I couldn’t decide what size to order, but went with the 4 Long (I’m 5’9 and 125 pounds). They are definitely very long - even on us tall folks - I have to roll them up a bit. But, better too long than too short IMO. They are slightly big in the waist for me, but not so much that they’re falling down. Again, I’d rather have a little extra room instead of them being too tight and uncomfortable. This way I can wear leggings/long underwear on the super intense cold days if necessary. My boyfriend complimented me on these pants, and he NEVER says anything about clothes :)Oh and the pockets are big and plentiful.I’m 5’1” and 115 pounds. I have a small waist (26 inches), and a juicy booty (38 inches). I usually have to buy size 4 pants and have the waist taken in. I ordered a size 2 Short because reviews said these pants were loose and baggy. They say “loose fit” but instead they are a tad snug. I liked them as an alternative to ski pants for my Spring Break trip to Steamboat, Colorado. Rugged material, very warm, and cute pants. Just wish I had ordered a size 4 Short.I wear these to work at a chicken farm during the winter. The chickens free-range so I am outside most of the day. This is also the PNW where it rains a lot. These pants keep me very warm and I haven't had the rain soak all the way through yet, and the material is thick enough that I'm not worried about them getting ripped or wearing through quickly. I get them absolutely filthy and they wash up really nice. I'm 5'4" and 135 pounds; I bought a 6 and they fit snug in the waist, good everywhere else. They don't cut into my tummy when I kneel, even though they are snug. They also don't constantly fall down on my hips like my stretchy Levi's jeans tend to do. They are long on me but most pants are, I have to roll the cuff up about an inch. When tucked into muck boots they're fine.Length is way to long everything else great. They fit good and are vomfortable. A little loose in the waist but a great fit everywhere else. I prefer a little loose than tight and could wear long underwear comfortably with these. They are warm but not too hot. Just wore to walk dogs in 28 degrees and I was fine. Made well and can tell these will last. Fleece lays nicely and doesn,t bunch like some others I have tried. I am 5"'7.75" anout 137lbs with an athletic build: booty and thighs, slim middrift and waist. I got size 6. I would buy again!Overall great pants, but there are some things you should be aware of before purchasing. They won't be right for everyone.PROS - The lining is soft and warm. There is enough room that they move around you despite the fabric having no stretch at all. If the waist is the right size it does not gap at the back when you crouch, as advertised. The quality seems good but they're new.CONS - This design is built for an hourglass shaped body so the waist is quite narrow compared to the hips. (For the 'no gapping effect?). I had to order 1 size larger than what I normally wear, because my waist is not much narrower than my hips, but that fits well, though the hips and thighs are now a little loose. They are LONG. Normally petite fits me well. I bought the short version and they're still about 1.5" too long. The liner is great but in my pair it is slightly larger than the exterior so there are a couple of places where there is a ridge of folded over lining. As loosely as they fit it's alright, but if you have the right shape to have a close fit it may be uncomfortable or unflattering, depending upon where the folds are. There is NO stretch in the waistband and the stitching is somewhat rough. This could become irritating if you are moving a lot and have sensitive skin. The coal color is actually quite blue but not quite the same family of blue as in some other Carhartt outerwear (at least not jackets, in my experience).Overall, these are very nice and I'm definitely keeping them. They'd be perfect if the waistband had some flex built in, had a softer/smoother inner surface, and if the liner matched the exterior a little better. I'd prefer the Short to be a correct petite length, but that's easier to customize than the rest.I load trucks and they get rather cold. These pants are warm and so far can stand the abuse. Definitely loose fitting. Fits nicely around the waist but the hip area is very baggy. I bought a 10 short and they’re still a few inches too longThese are great pants is your a size 2 or larger. shame on carhartt for not including size small and extra small. All carhartt pants start at a size 2 which is a medium this completly excludes every female that weighs less then 120 lbs. I've been complaining for 4 years now reviewing about this problem. I won't likely every buy carhartt again after the companys 2021/2022 treatment of workers/employees. Their womens fit for tops has always been odd and we can do better and support an actual American company. Ditch the carhartt company. I usually order a size 4 and a 30" length. I ordered the 4 short. The length is good but the waist is way big. I need a belt to hold them up. I was going to send them back and order the size 2 Short but for some reason they want over $20.00 more for this size. What's up with that.I'm bummed out... I ordered "original fit" and they sent "loose fit" which probably is the reason they are too big. If that is not the reason then they are not true to size at all. An 8 should fit me or even be a little snug and these are easily more like a 10, maybe 12. They are what I wanted but I will be returning them to see if I can get the pair/fit I had requested. The good news is that delivery was very quick! These pants are lined and perfect for cool days on the farm . The hay doesn’t stick . The size ordered is 12 and perfect for a 5’3 -5’4. 150 lb. woman . I ordered short leg and they’re plenty long enough . Do not order a regular length unless you’re quite tall.Brought a size 14, I usually wear men size 32x30”, however men size always out of stock and the lining is thinner not fleece plus eliminated the left side pocket recently. I will say size 14 has a true size 34” x 32 after tumble dry. Will try 12 short next time. Worth the money.
