I was like Goldilocks trying to find "just right". I normally wear XXL Big & Tall, but that jacket was like a tent. Returned it for a regular XXL and still way too big. But the XL? Just right.Jacket is incredibly warm and comfortable, and made in the US, which is important to me.Bought this for my son. He was so excited. These are so durable and well made. Couldn't decide which one to buy so I bought two styles. He loved them both. They are warm for winter and great. Gives him enough wiggle room to maneuver when he's working on something. Doesn't restrain his movements. We've always stood with this brand. They haven't steered us wrong yet.Bring on the cold, slush snowy weather! This will keep you warm an not let your body heat escape!Put it on to make sure the fit was right. Toasty warm in less than a minute.I like loose fit for layering.Wish there was a J140 with regular fitPros:This jacket is warm, roomy and fairly wind resistant. For someone who has to wear a coat daily in cold weather nearly all year round it’s like wearing a warm blanket. This jacket does the two things a jacket is supposed to do best……… stop the wind and rain, keep you warm. The two interior pockets are niceCons:The pockets are small. The coat has a big profile. It feels “puffy”. The hood, which is worth its weight in gold on a cold windy day, is very stiff. You pay that price for having a heavyweight hood. I have to carry two sets of work gloves and a flashlight in my coat and frankly the pockets are lacking for that task.Overall:This is a good coat. The cons are easily worked around. Once you come to peace with the way it wears you’ll like it more. I can see this coat lasting years. We will see when it really rains here and all coats get tested. So far it’s a good daily wear, light rain, cold weather coat.Well, after 30 years of working on the Railroad, around massive locomotives and boxcars, in all kinds of weather, my old jacket was finally showing its age, cuffs were wore through, stained with Dinosaur Poop, no to mention just a little bit snug when I added a Hoodie underneath it.Time to upgrade.Retired now and no longer need this super rugged, extremely tuff, do everything, handle anything Industrial Strength, Work Wear. Bought 2, yes, 2 normal folks going out for Dinner coats and promptly returned them. After decades of working outside, I got this thing about being both Dry & Warm.Screw Fashion.Just bought this jacket, exactly like the one I've wore 30 years but, well, new and nice looking. Also bought the exact same Carhartt Men's Big & Tall Arctic Quilt Lined Duck Traditional Coat C003 .Might not be head out for a night on the Opera type clothing but , ya know what, I ain't never gone to the Opera. When it's below zero actual temps and -20 wind chills, I like being warm enough I do not have to run to my car and chance falling on the ice. Slow steady saunter is more my style, as is these two new coats.Probably wasted my money on that arctic jacket. I cannot remember the last time it got cold enough I had to put it on. This jacket and a Hoodie are I've ever needed to stay plenty toasty but, figured I'm buying the one, might as well get the other. Getting older and really hate the Cold. When on the Carhartt website I out in my height and weight and it said I needed a 2xl.I ordered a 2xl and a 1xl big & tall6 foot tall and 280lbsThe 1xl big & tall fit me better. It was still big enough to he able to have a t shirt and a hoodie underneath. The big & tall is 2inch longer in the length which I like more. The 2xl did fit but I felt it was big. When I grabbed the jacket in the middle of my chest and pulled out there was 5 to 6 inches of extra room. The sleaves felt really baggy and it was barely at waist height. If your unsure about sizing order both and see. The 1xl b&t was slimmer fitting while being a little longer as I'm 6'.The 2xl felt too big and boxy. More suited for a bigger dude who's sorter then myself. This is my first Carhartt jacket and now I understand the popularity. This is built with an almost mythical quality I have not seen since vintage gems like a 50’s Harris Tweed. Mind you this is no fancy-mans jacket. Tough as nails you actually feel protected. The zipper is HEAVY duty. I’m 5’10” 170 lbs and the medium is perfect. It is loose as said but I wear a sweater. Temps right now are about -15c/ 5F. The hood seems built for wearing a hat or helmet under for sure—it’s shallower then I like but it warm and cozy. It’s pretty much everything people say it is, and it’s made in the USA which is great by me being Canadian. If you think you don’t want one, you are just wrong! I think it’s very well priced for the quality.great carhartt quality. impressive zipper, durable duck fabric, beautiful colour, handy pockets, nice quilt for -20°C with a downfill bubble vest. ordered a small, usually wear medium. not my first carhartt piece of clothing and not the last! always impressed by the qualityThis Carhartt model of Jacket fit like a glove. Assembled in the USA. ( very little shrinkage. No color running in the wash ) This model of large is a true large. Not over sized and not under sized. My previous made in Nicaragua Carhartt jacket fell apart with in a year. ( wasn’t impressed with Carhartt quality)I was told to give this Jacket a try. I paid a little more but the quality seems much better.Great color, fantastic fit and nicely Assembled.
