My son had a carhartt jacket before. He is 15 and doesn’t like the look of all warm jacket. last winter he didn’t want to wear a big down jacket so only wear a sweatshirt and down vest. I was trying to find a jacket that he would like and wear. I guess he want to look less kidlike. I showed him the picture before I ordered it and he said yes to it. He is a small kid and the mens small was enormous on him, but the kids xtra large was perfect with enough room. He says it is warm. Carhartt is very tough wearing so he should have it for a whild. My son wanted a black carhartt so he could match me and his papa, he couldn’t be happier. I bought it a couple sizes too big so he’d have it for a couple years. We love Carhartt, always great quality. This was for my 9 year, who hates wearing jackets and he will actually wear this one. Warm enough for cold mornings. I did purposefully get this large for him.My grandson hates this jacket with a passion. First it’s so stiff he feels imprisoned. Second the zipper is difficult to operate leading to frustration. He personally has to ask for help He is 12.Fit perfectly except a little short on the sleeves but nothing too short. Big enough that it also looks oversized but not too terribly. It's one of those jackets that gets worn specifically during very cold weather. Winter storms and the like. Too heavy for fall/spring imo.I bought a Medium for my 9 year old son, and it was pretty big on him. He usually wears mediums, so I thought it would fit perfectly but it fits large. He loves it though, so I didn’t return it and he can use it next winter too.Got this for my 7 year old son. He wears a size 7 skinny so the jacket is a little big on him, but he can wear a sweater under it during really cold days and still be comfortable. We took it outside today in 45 degrees and 25mph winds and he was perfectly warm. The jacket and zipper are a little stiff, but I think that'll fix itself over time. And let's face it, he was excited to have a jacket just like his dad and both of his grandpas!HUGE AND STIFF. My kid coulnt even move his arms. I returned it. Also the zipper so so stiff . I have carhart stuff so I wanted my son to have the same but it’s not so functional for a toddler so I retneured itProduct fits well and the quality is amazing. My son is 4 years old and under the average height for his age but I ordered a xxs 4/5 anyway, it’s a little big as I expected it to be so I would say it fits true to sizeThis jacket is great quality. Nice quilted flannel inside and very durable fabric on the outside. Sizing is very true to what you expect. My 8yo grandson is 42 lbs and the small was great and a bit roomy on his small frame.Awesome coat! So great for layering with sweater under and cuts the wind. My son stays toasty and the price was good ?Zipper is a tad tricky but all Carhartts seem to be so. Heavy duty and durable for ruff young kids! Will re-buy for sureGreat quality, made with sturdy thick material. I bought as a fall coat, but ended up being of thicker material and it is now winter and my son is still wearing it.My son's only complaint is that it is too "puffy" this may be due to sizing but I also think it is part of the design to not be as form fitting. He did struggle to do up his own zipper in the beginning because he could not see it due to the "puffiness." He's since figured out how to manage this.
